Receipts

A receipt is a printable record of a transaction — a check-out, check-in, audit reconciliation, receiving against a purchase order, or a move order fulfillment — that you can hand to someone or keep on file. The Receipts page under Reports is where you browse those templates, name and describe them, and (with the right permission) customize their layout. You don’t generate a receipt from this page — each transaction prints its own receipt at the point you complete it.

  • Receipts live under Reports and share its access. If Reports doesn’t appear in the left sidebar, ask your administrator to grant report access to your role.
  • Receipts describe transactions, so the underlying check-out, check-in, reconciliation, receiving, or move order needs to happen for there to be anything to print — you print it as part of completing that action, not afterward from this page.

From the left sidebar, open Reports and choose Receipts. A search box and flat list of receipt templates appears on the left; select one to see its details on the right.

Find the receipt layout you want to review or customize:

  • Search for a template by name, or browse the list.
  • Select a template to load its details on the right.

Receipt templates cover transactions such as check-out, check-in, reconcile audit, receiving (against a purchase order), and move order fulfillment.

With a template selected, you can:

  • Edit the Report Name and Report Description so the template is easy to identify in the list, then click Save.
  • Tick Default Report to make this the template that’s pre-selected the next time you print this type of receipt.

If your role has report-design permission, a Design button opens the report designer, where you can adjust the receipt’s layout and save the result as your own version of the template.

  • Reset discards your layout changes to one of Wasp Asset’s built-in receipt templates and restores the original design.
  • A template you created as a full copy (rather than customizing a built-in one) shows Delete instead, which removes it entirely.
  • Undo reverts a customized template’s design to its previously saved version.

You print a receipt as part of finishing the transaction it documents, by ticking a Print Receipt (or similarly named) option and choosing a template before you save:

  • The Receipts page doesn’t have a print or generate button. That’s expected — this page manages the templates. Print a receipt from the check-out, check-in, reconcile, receiving, or move order fulfillment action itself.
  • The receipt is empty or missing a transaction. A receipt reflects a transaction that already happened. Make sure the check-out, check-in, or other activity was completed, and that you chose to print it at that time.
  • The receipt opens in a new tab I don’t see. Receipts open in a separate browser tab; check your pop-up blocker if nothing appears.
  • I don’t see the template I need. Use the search box; the available templates depend on your edition and permissions.
  • Check out and Check in — actions that can print a receipt as you complete them.
  • Reconciling and Receiving — more actions that can print a receipt.
  • History — reprint a receipt for a past transaction.
  • Reports — run and export data reports.
  • Labels — manage barcode label templates.
