Signing In and Out

This page walks you through signing in to Wasp Asset, what to expect the first time, choosing the site you want to work in, and signing out when you’re done.

  • Your web address. Wasp Asset runs in your browser, so there’s nothing to install. Your administrator will give you the address (URL) to open.
  • An account. Someone with the right permissions must create your user account first. If you’ve never received a welcome email or sign-in details, contact your administrator.
  • A supported browser. Use a current version of a mainstream browser such as Chrome, Edge, or Firefox for the best experience.
  1. Open Wasp Asset in your web browser using the address your administrator gave you.
  2. On the sign-in screen, enter your User Name and Password.
  3. Select Remember Me if you’d like the browser to remember your user name on this device.
  4. Click Login.

Once your credentials are accepted, Wasp Asset opens to your home page.

If your organization has set up Active Directory (ADFS) or SAML single sign-on, signing in works a little differently:

  • You may be sent straight to your company’s own sign-in page instead of the Wasp Asset sign-in screen.
  • Or the Wasp Asset sign-in screen may show an extra button next to Login — such as Log in using your Active Directory account or a similar SAML sign-in option — alongside the normal User Name and Password fields.

Which one you see depends on how your administrator configured single sign-on. If you’re not sure whether your organization uses SSO, check with your administrator.

The very first time you sign in, you may be asked to review and accept the Terms of Service. Select the checkbox to agree — you can open the full terms from the link beside it — and then click Login. Depending on how your account was set up, you may also be prompted to set or change your password before you continue.

If you can’t remember your password:

  1. On the sign-in screen, click Forgot Password?.
  2. Enter the email address or user name associated with your account.
  3. Follow the instructions in the email you receive to choose a new password.
  4. Return to the sign-in screen and log in with your new password.

Wasp Asset can track assets across many sites. The Working Site selector in the top bar controls which site (or sites) you’re viewing and working with at any moment. Lists, searches, and new records are all scoped to your Working Site.

  • Click the Working Site name in the top bar to open the selector.
  • Check one or more specific sites to focus on just those locations, or check All Sites to work across everything you have access to, then click Select.

Your choice stays in effect as you move around the app until you change it again.

When you’re finished, sign out to protect your account:

  1. Click your Profile menu (your name / person icon) at the top-right of the screen.
  2. Choose Log Off.

You’ll be returned to the sign-in screen.

For security, Wasp Asset can automatically sign you out after a period of inactivity. If your session times out, you’ll be returned to the sign-in screen and simply need to log in again. Any work you’d already saved is kept; anything you were still editing when the session ended is not, so save regularly.

“Invalid user name or password.” Check for typos, extra spaces, and Caps Lock. Passwords are case-sensitive; user names usually aren’t. If you still can’t get in, use Forgot Password? to reset your password.

I don’t see a Forgot Password? link. Your organization likely signs in through single sign-on, or your company’s email hasn’t been set up for password-reset messages. Contact your administrator either way.

I signed in but a record I expected is missing. Check your Working Site in the top bar. Lists and searches are scoped to the site you’re viewing. Switch to All Sites to see everything you have access to.

I keep getting signed out. For security, Wasp Asset signs you out after a period of inactivity. Just sign in again. Saving your work regularly means a timeout never costs you anything.

A feature I need isn’t there. Access is controlled by your role and edition. Ask your administrator to confirm your permissions or your company’s edition.
